Course Descriptions

2-Mile - Out and back course on Mayowood Road.

20K - Loops and out-and-back on blacktop bike trails and county roads.  One hill, elevation 90 ft, in the first mile. The course for 2008 is the same as 2007--fast and flat.  4 water stops (Gatorade and water) at miles 2,6,7.4,11.

Note: As this is an equalizer race and the men will be overtaking some of the women on the course, NO HEADPHONES WILL BE ALLOWED!  Run to the right on the bike trail.  When a runner behind you announces they are going to pass, let them pass unobstructed.

Race Cancellation Policy

Races may be cancelled if there is enough snow or ice to endanger the runners or the volunteers, or if any other dangerous weather conditions exist.  Check the RTC website for race information if the weather is unfavorable.
Also, please remember the weather is unpredictable this time of year.  Bringing dry clothes for after the race is suggested and encouraged.

Awards

20K, Male and Female:

• Medals 3 deep: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
• 1st finisher in each age group earns a $20 Running Room gift card and homemade cookies.
• The Stick to the first make and female Masters finishers.
• RRCA plaques to first male and female: overall, masters and grandmasters.

Cash prize winner is eligible for RRCA award but not age group award. Age group award winners are eligible for RRCA award.

So where did the prize money come from? "I auctioned off 'Cookies of the Month for 2008' and '5 Dozen Holiday Cookies' on this website in December.  The auction proceeds are providing the prize money, and I am donating the cookies."

• Long sleeve colored, high-quality T-shirt with 20K registration fee. Extra shirts may be ordered at $6 each.
• Chip timing provided by Wayzata Results Inc.  Lost chips are $30.  If you forget to give your chip back at the end of the race you may return it by sending them to Josh Gerber, 700 College Drive, SPO: 813, Decorah, IA 52101.  Chips should be wrapped in packing material before being mailed.  You will be responsible for any damaged chips that are returned via the mail.
• Personalized race number if entry received by March 28.
• Gatorade and water at water stops.
• Fruit, Great Harvest race rolls, Dippin' Stix (apples and caramel), Clif bar, and other goodies following the races.
• Her Sports + Fitness magazine to female participants.
